LCBO UNVEILS RELOCATED FLAGSHIP STORE IN TORONTO’S WATERFRONT DISTRICT

Queens Quay store offers expanded product assortment and enhanced experience for shoppers

 

February 4, 2022 – Toronto – Today the LCBO opens its relocated flagship store in downtown Toronto. Located in the city’s revitalized waterfront district at 15 Cooper Street, the 24,000 square foot store features an extensive assortment of over 4,000 products including the best of local and international wine, beer, and spirits, and boasts the largest Vintages wines selection in LCBO’s 670-plus store network.

The store offers engaging and convenient shopping experiences for customers. Interactive digital kiosks throughout the store provide product information, including in-store and online availability, where to find products in store, exclusive releases, and Aeroplan loyalty reward offerings. In time, tasting hubs will offer opportunities for customers to sample select on-trend products, interact with brand experts, and expand their wine, beer, and spirits knowledge. Pop-Up Shop experiences will highlight product pairings for holidays and special occasions throughout the year, beginning with Lunar New Year celebrations in February. For added convenience, customers can shop on lcbo.com and their order will be packed and ready in 3 hours or less at the Same-Day Pickup counter.

Flagship store highlights

  • The largest Vintages section in LCBO’s store network with 1500 wines  
  • A localized product selection:
          o   230 VQA Ontario wines
          o   Ontario craft distiller section of 30 products
          o   139 Ontario Craft Brewers
          o   A hyper-local Pop-Up display between February and April  will feature a selection of Toronto’s beverage alcohol             producers
  • 1,400 square footage cold room of imported and domestic beer and ready-to-drink products
  • Dedicated refrigeration for ready-to-drink chilled wine products 
  • Convenient Same Day Pickup service desk inside north entrance
  • Digital product tags offer timely and accurate information about products, and offer a more sustainable way to label products
  • 44 free covered parking spots
  • Public transit accessible  
  • LED fixtures and automated controls reduce and monitor energy consumption, while sustainably sourced wood and low VOC products are environmentally friendly
  • “Muskoka Chair” art installation by Hamilton-based artist, Trevor McIntyre to remind customers of the dangers of drinking and driving
  • The store and the interactive features have been designed for an inclusive and equitable experience for customers
  • Store hours are Monday through Thursday 10:00am to 9:00pm, Friday to Saturday 10:00am to 10:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am to 8:00pm

The new store is located on the lower level of Menke’s 100 Queens Quay Building and is part of the Sugar Wharf development. The previous flagship store will be redeveloped as part of the provincial government’s sale of LCBO head office lands to reinvest in public infrastructure.
