LCBO CELEBRATES ONTARIO’S WINE REGIONS WITH THE FOR THE LOVE OF LOCAL CAMPAIGN

New fall campaign spotlights the people, places, and tastes this province has to offer - with more than 400 Ontario VQA wines at the forefront

September 13, 2021 – Toronto – Today until October 9, the LCBO is celebrating the wineries and varieties grown and styles produced in Ontario with the For the Love of Local. The campaign spotlights notable wine regions - Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Niagara Escarpment, Lake Erie North Shore and Prince Edward County – and features recommendations from LCBO Experts and the people who live and work in the regions they call home. Why? Because nobody knows local better than a local.

“With more than 400 VQA wines on our shelves crafted from 100% Ontario-grown grapes, LCBO is the largest purveyor of Ontario VQA wine. We recognize the importance of honouring the local winemakers who play such an important role in Ontario’s vibrant economy,” said George Soleas, President & CEO, LCBO. “It is more important than ever that we come together in support of Ontario’s beverage alcohol producers and, through For the Love of Local, we’re proud to connect Ontarians to the incredible wines from our own backyard.”

For the Love of Local will come to life through in-store signage and promotions, an online portal, social media content #ForTheLoveOfLocal, Food & Drink magazine, and a unique virtual events series for at home tasting experiences. To discover local VQA wine recommendations and more, visit lcbo.com or the mobile app.
