STATEMENT ON LCBO EMPLOYEE TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
Monday, May 11, 2020 – Toronto
The LCBO was notified last night (May 10, 2020) that an employee at LCBO Store #584 at Woodside Square in Scarborough (1571 Sandhurst Circle) has tested positive for COVID-19. This employee last worked in-store on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.
The LCBO was notified on May 6, 2020 of a previous confirmed case at this location.
As a precautionary measure and due to staffing restrictions, this retail location will be temporarily closed to the public. This location was deep cleaned on Thursday, May 7, however additional cleaning is being arranged. Although no close contacts have been determined in either case, out of an abundance of caution, additional employees will be supported through self-isolation and monitoring for any symptoms.
Public Health has not provided any directions or recommendations with respect to this location. This general notice is being provided out of transparency for customers who may have recently shopped at this location.
The LCBO considers the health and well-being of its employees our top priority and we continue to work with OPSEU Liquor Board Employee Division to provide information and support to these employees moving forward.
The LCBO has several measures to keep our employees and customers safe, including increased cleaning and sanitization, in-store measures that promote physical distancing and introducing new HR policies in support of employees.
