DESTINATION EAST ASIA: LCBO OPENS NEW “PRODUCTS OF THE WORLD” STORE, 3075 HIGHWAY #7 EAST, MARKHAM, ONTARIO
April 22, 2016
April 22, 2016 marks the opening of LCBO’s newest “Products of the World” specialty store. The destination boutique at 3075 Highway #7 East in Markham offers 35 different and unique wines and spirits, in addition to the 22 which make up our general list collection from East Asian countries, including Japan, China and South Korea. This selection is believed to be one of the best assortments of its kind in North America.
Many of the wines and spirits are from LCBO’s Consignment Program, which means they are available to customers for the first time outside of bars and licensed restaurants. The selection will be regularly refreshed to keep the assortment interesting.
Products have been chosen to appeal to a wide range of tastes and budgets. The store is staffed with knowledgeable Customer Service representatives and a Product Consultant who can offer expert advice on the rare listings.
LCBO’s “Products of the World” specialty store program now includes nine destination stores. The first featured Greek wines and spirits in the heart of Toronto’s Greektown and sales are up an average of 150 per cent compared to this time last year. The Portugal store in The Stockyards, Spain store in Etobicoke, New Zealand store in North Toronto, the Argentina boutique in Aurora and three Kosher store locations with two in Toronto and one in Thornhill, are all on the same trajectory, reporting strong sales growth so far. More countries are planned for later this year.
