PRODUCTS OF THE WORLD: LCBO OPENS THREE KOSHER BOUTIQUES
April 18, 2016
Just in time for Passover, LCBO has added three kosher boutiques to its “Products of the World” program. Each of these destination stores offers more than 100 different kosher wines and spirits.
While more than 500 LCBO stores across Ontario carry kosher offerings, the three destination boutiques will offer an expanded selection with exclusive wines and spirits from our Consignment Program. The selection will be regularly refreshed to keep the assortment appealing and will include many products previously only available to licensees.
The LCBO kosher boutique locations are:
· 675 Wilson Ave. (near Dufferin), North York
· 180 Promenade Circle, Promenade Mall, Thornhill
· 502 Lawrence Ave. W. (near Bathurst), Toronto
Products have been chosen to appeal to a wide range of tastes and budgets. While many of the products are from Israel, there are also offerings from Spain, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy, France, California and more.
In addition, most LCBO stores regularly carry more than 40 kosher products and in the lead-up to Passover, LCBO has introduced another 50 seasonal releases, including Canada’s first kosher Icewine.
LCBO’s “Products of the World” specialty store program now includes eight destination stores. The first featured Greek wines and spirits in the heart of Toronto’s Greektown and sales are up 150 per cent compared to this time last year. The Portugal store in Toronto’s Stockyards, Spain store in Etobicoke, Argentina boutique in Aurora and New Zealand location in North York are all on the same year-over-year growth trajectory, reporting more than a 50 per cent increase in sales so far. More destination stores will be introduced during 2016.
