REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TO PURCHASE THE LCBO HEAD OFFICE SITE POSTED TO MERX
On September 4, 2014, Infrastructure Ontario posted a Request for Proposal (RFP) on behalf of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) for the purchase of the LCBO Head Office site in Toronto. The site comprises the following:
- the Head Office building and lands situated on the site municipally known as 55 Lake Shore Blvd. East;
- the LCBO warehouse and land municipally known as 43 Freeland Street and the adjoining land; and
- the LCBO retail store adjacent to Queens Quay at 2 Cooper Street (including the land on the east side of Cooper Street between Loblaws, Queens Quay and Lake Shore Blvd. East).
The lands are being sold to optimize public assets and realize revenues for the Province of Ontario. LCBO will use this opportunity to identify, implement and enhance efficiencies in its operations (warehousing, retail and head office functions). The proceeds from the sale will be placed into a new Trillium Trust to fund priority infrastructure projects.
The RFP is being openly procured through MERX, Canada’s leading electronic tendering service, and is open to all interested and qualified parties, including those outside of Ontario.
The RFP sets out the open, competitive procurement process, submission requirements, conditions and specifications for the selection of a purchaser for the purchase and development of the site.
