Toasting with Ontario sparkling wine and Ontario craft beer, the LCBO today officially opened its relocated store in Kemptville at 324 Colonnade Drive East.
The 10,000 square-foot store offers more than 6,500 square feet of display space – more than four times the LCBO outlet on Rideau Street, which it replaces, and more than 1,600 products.
“This new store significantly increases beverage alcohol service in Kemptville and will provide one-stop shopping for area residents and visitors,” said LCBO Senior Vice President of Retail Operations Bob Clevely. “New stores like this increase customer satisfaction and have helped LCBO deliver 18 consecutive record dividend transfers to the province, including an all-time high $1.6 billion dividend in fiscal 2011-12.”
Joining Bob Clevely for the opening were Kemptville Mayor David Gordon and Ralph Pulfer, President, Kemptville Royal Canadian Legion.
“I'm pleased to take part in the opening of this impressive new store,” said Mayor Gordon. “This store reflects LCBO's commitment in providing Kemptville and area residents with a wide product selection, as well as knowledgeable, responsible service.”
Among the new store’s many features are a large Ontario wine section with more than 320 wines, including some 170 VQA wines, and a VINTAGES fine wine and premium spirits section offering some 300 products. The store also features a large walk-in cold room for beer and ready-to-drink cocktails and coolers, mixed-drink displays, a gift section and a tasting bar.
“LCBO stores are no longer just about bottles on the shelf,” notes Clevely. “This is a place where you can get advice on planning a dinner party, improve your product knowledge and sample new and featured products from Ontario and 84 different countries.”
