LCBO’s core values include celebrating authenticity and creating a safe place for all. We believe people do their best work when they can be themselves, and our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a big part of how we make that possible.
These employee-led communities bring people together around shared identities, such as gender, ethnicity, disability, or other visible and invisible characteristics – or a shared desire to support and show up as allies. They create space for connection, advocacy, and growth, and have become a vital part of how we’re fostering a more inclusive workplace and building a stronger sense of belonging.
Here’s a look at the four ERGs currently active across the LCBO:
• AdaptLCBO: A group for those who identify as, support, or are allies of Persons with Disabilities to foster engaging, diverse, and inclusive discussions and learnings.
• LCBO Pride Network: Provides an inclusive and safe environment for all 2SLGBTQ+ people and their allies, empowering members to be their authentic selves.
• PEARLS (Promoting Equity and Racial Longevity Support): Includes those who identify as and/or support racialized persons to amplify racialized voices, perspectives, and experiences.
• Women's Action Alliance: Provides a safe space for women and their allies to address the unique challenges women face in their careers and lives and strategies to overcome them.
Throughout the year, these groups have hosted a wide range of events – from educational seminars and panel discussions to informal networking meetups. Whether it’s honouring International Women’s Day, celebrating Pride Month, or deepening understanding of Truth and Reconciliation, these gatherings have sparked meaningful conversations and helped strengthen connections across teams.
“At LCBO, our Employee Resource Groups amplify voices and bring meaningful stories and conversations to the forefront. They’ve fostered a deeper sense of community and belonging across our teams. It’s inspiring to see so many colleagues step into leadership roles through their ERG involvement. They remind us that when people lead with passion and purpose, we all grow stronger together,” Nupur Khandelwal, Senior Director, Talent Management and DEI.
Each ERG is open to all employees and while their focus areas differ, they all share a common goal: to make LCBO a place where people feel included, supported, and empowered to show up as their whole selves.
These groups are helping us grow, not just as a company, but as a community. And they’re a reminder that when we celebrate authenticity, we create space for everyone to thrive.
