WHAT IS A PRODUCT CONSULTANT?
LCBO Product Consultants work within the store and are leaders in product knowledge. They are responsible for supporting the VINTAGES program within the store, providing staff with education and leadership, and are a prime beverage alcohol and food pairing resource for our customers.
A day in the life of Product Consultant may include:
- Customer service
- Inventory Control
- Media events
- Facilitating internal and external tasting events
Product Consultants are among the most passionate wine, spirits, and beer professionals within the industry and many hold their WSET Advanced or above, as well as other accreditations including Prud’homme, Sommelier and Whisky Ambassadors.
Presenting to this group is an excellent way to give your brand exposure, not only with LCBO staff, but also with our customers
Each year the LCBO Knowledge Resources Group collaborates with the trade to provide educational sessions to our network of Product Consultants across the province.
These trade presentations take place at 13 locations across the province, with 16 different Development Day groups throughout the province, one to two times a month.
They are scheduled as one-hour segments during the Product Consultant Developmental Days. Planning to visit Ontario? Suppliers have the opportunity to conduct educational sessions with Product Consultants during one of their monthly Release Tasting Development Days through the Knowledge Resources Group.
Agents may make these arrangements on the supplier’s behalf by submiting a proposal request.
