Smoky BBQ Sauce

Chipotle peppers in adobo are available at Latin stores and some supermarkets. Chop ¼ cup (60 mL) chipotle peppers in adobo. Pour 1 cup (250 mL) BBQ sauce into a medium pot over medium-high heat. Add chipotle, 2 tsp (10 mL) lime juice and 1 tsp (5 mL) lime zest. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until flavours have developed. Serve with grilled chicken.

Chicken: Preheat BBQ to high. Brush 6 chicken legs with 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil. Grill, covered, for 5 minutes. Turn legs and baste with Smoky BBQ Sauce. Repeat cooking and basting until skin is crispy and chicken is cooked through, about 10 more minutes.
