Saketini

In all the confusion over Asian-fusion food, one thing is clear: It's getting easier to find good sake here. Two premium varieties are being released in September and October respectively - Indigo Wind Premium Sparkling Junmai Sake, an intriguing effervescent sake, and Yoshi Organic Premium Ginjo Junmai Sake. Fine sake (look for the words junmai or ginjo on the label) should be served chilled, or fix a Saketini by replacing the vermouth in a traditional martini.
Serves 1
2 ½ oz (75 mL) gin or vodka
1 ½ tsp (7 mL) sake
1 cocktail olive
1. In a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes, stir together gin and sake
2. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the olive.
