Description
The iconic Case Basse vineyard was planted in 1972 and produced Rosso dai Vigneti di Brunello - the former designation for Rosso di Montalcino - until 1990, when Gianfranco Soldera determined that the vines were finally ready to produce truly great Brunello. It is this focused, determined insistence upon quality that has made Soldera one of the most influential and important winemakers in Italy and has made his wines among the most highly sought-after in the world. 'Soldera's meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard is legendary. His are some of the most well maintained, manicured vines I have ever seen (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, July 2008).'
