Seven Falls Cellars Merlot 2014
This wine is crafted from 100% Merlot. It's a unique quirk of Washington winemaking that their Merlots tend to be more structured and robust than their Cabernets; this is not typical anywhere else in the world. Though the tannins are supple, this example is tight and bold with plenty of body and notes of mixed red and dark fruit, cherry, raspberry, chocolate, woodspice and dried earth. A wine for food. Enjoy with braised meats, grilled lamb or barbecued ribs. (Vintages panel, April 2018)
