Nicolas Feuillatte Blanc de Noirs Brut Grand Cru Champagne 2004
Nicolas Feuillatte, founder of the biggest-selling Champagne brand in France, passed away in 2014 at the age of 88. He began working in Champagne in the 1970s, moving to create his own label in 1980. It was his intention to craft Champagnes in a softer, rounder style that would appeal to people who found many of the traditional wines too acidic. He wished for his Champagne to become the Dom Perignon for a new generation of Champagne lovers, particularly women, and counted Jackie Kennedy and Diana, Princess of Wales, among his biggest fans. The 2004 Blanc de Noirs is buttery and complex with layered tones of yellow apple, lime, pear and toast, with the characteristic softness and approachability that established Feuillatte's reputation.
