Maison Chanzy Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2016
This is crafted with a bit of an eye toward a more modern style, which (along with the relatively affordable price point) will make it an attractive wine for fans of New World Pinot who are curious about exploring Burgundy. Bright, ripe red cherry rides atop underbrush, smoke, earth, spice and a clay-tinged mineral note. The acidity is great, and the tannins provide structure but do not overwhelm. A juicy, complex, approachable wine. Try with grilled salmon or grilled chicken. (Vintages panel, Oct. 2017)
