Fattoi Brunello di Montalcino 2009
The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is one of the darkest wines of the 2009 vintage with enormous depth and textural richness that wraps smoothly over the palate. The wine imparts generous pulses of dark cherry, dried blackberry, Indian spice and moist tobacco that work their way over the palate with soft, chewy consistency. Of particular note are the balsam notes of cola and licorice that are so characteristic of Brunello. Although this wine doesn't have the high definition of successful past vintages, this wine does boast enough baby fat to count on a greater evolution with more bottle aging. Drink: 2016-2022. Score - 90. (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Feb. 2014)
