Château Hauchat 2014
Fronsac is one of what are referred to as Satellite Appellations of Bordeaux: regions that abut and share some of the attributes of the great wine-growing areas of Bordeaux. Situated on the Right Bank, the wines of Fronsac are predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This example suggests the area's typical ripeness with plenty of dark fruit, cassis, oak and spice. Approachable, rich and long, it's a tremendous value and over-delivers at this price point.
