Château des Jacques La Roche Moulin-à-Vent 2014
The 2014 Moulin a Vent la Roche was one of the best wines that I tasted from Château des Jacques in this vintage. I love the fruit profile here with dark plum, blackcurrant and bilberry - something almost New World about it, and I mean that in a positive sense. The palate is succulent and well balanced, plump in the mouth with plenty of new oak that will require a couple of years to be subsumed. What it has is a sense of joie de vivre thanks to its vivacious and pure finish. You could drink this now but I would opt to leave it 12-18 months just to soak up that wood. Drink Date: 2018-2026. Score - 91. (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Aug. 30, 2016)
