Casale del Giglio Satrico 2017
This is named for the ancient city of Satricum, which became the site of a temple to the goddess Mater Matuta. The Romans later incorporated Mater Matuta within their mythology for Aurora, the goddess of the dawn. This blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Trebbiano Giallo is floral and aromatic, with apple, honey and spice tones and a lively juicy acidity. This will have great versatility with food but will be also be superb as a sipper or with simple salads and fish dishes. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2018)
