Tasting Note
Translucent medium-red in colour; the term rosé is almost a misnomer here! Lovely, deep and sensuous aromas of wild strawberry, ripe raspberry and cherry along with sweet spices, floral, earth and mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied and robust, this is spicy, fruity and savoury all at once. A satisfying depth of flavour enlivened by the lip-smackingly crisp acidity you'd expect from the 2008 vintage in Niagara. This is a rosé with a serious bass line. Almost drinks like a red - but not quite, and therein lies the intrigue. Great on its own, it will also delight with hickory-flavoured barbecued chicken breast. (VINTAGES panel, May 2010)
