Good Works

While it may not make cash donations or sponsor events, LCBO and its suppliers and partners are committed to assisting charitable organizations in their fundraising efforts.

Friends of We Care: The 2017 annual We Care Golf Classic, organized and attended by LCBO staff and its industry partners in the foodservice and hospitality industry, raised $345,000 to send disabled children to summer camps. The total raised is comprised of funds from the event's sponsorships, live and silent auctions, individual contributions, as well as the In-Store Tasting Program and Special Events tastings.

Over the past 27 years, the LCBO and its trade partners have raised more than $2.5 million for Friends of We Care

An annual ski day event, We Care Winterfest, held by the beverage alcohol trade in association with the LCBO, raised $58,000 for the same worthy cause in 2017.

Camp Oochigeas: Each June, the annual Camp Oochigeas (Camp Ooch) fundraising barbecue at LCBO’s head office parking lot, provides a camp experience for children affected by cancer at sites in Muskoka, the Hospital for Sick Children and in the community. This barbecue is held by the beverage alcohol trade in partnership with the LCBO.

At the 2017 event, a cheque for $303,217 was presented to Camp Oochigeas. The funds represent money collected from the In-Store Tasting Program, barbecue proceeds and promotional draw. Read more about Camp Ooch here.
