Blood Orange–Ginger Cosmo

Make the garnish ahead of time so you can spend more time with your guests.


¼ tsp freshly grated ginger
1½ oz vodka
½ oz orange-flavoured liqueur
1 oz blood orange juice
Candied Blood Orange Wheel (see recipe below)


  1. Grate ginger into a coupe glass. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, orange-flavoured liqueur and blood orange juice. Shake and strain into glass. Garnish with Candied Blood Orange Wheel.
Makes 1 cocktail

Candied Blood Orange Wheel


1 cup sugar, divided
½ cup water
1 blood orange, sliced


  1. Stir ¾ cup sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until dissolved. Bring to a boil. Add blood orange slices and simmer over medium-low heat until tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer to parchment paper to dry slightly, about 10 minutes. Place remaining ¼ cup sugar in a bowl and toss slices individually until coated. Let dry in a single layer.
