Pickled Mary



2 tsp (10 mL) Kachumber Salsa (recipe follows)
2 oz (60 mL) vodka
4 oz (125 mL) tomato juice
Dash of Tabasco
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp (5 mL) freshly squeezed lime juice
Lime wedge or green chili and celery for garnish                                                                                                                           


1 cup (250 mL) finely chopped cucumber
½ cup (125 mL) finely chopped tomato
½ cup (125 mL) finely chopped onion
1 tsp (5 mL) minced red chili
1 tsp (5 mL) minced fresh ginger
2 tsp (10 mL) fresh lime juice


  1. Make Kachumber Salsa by combining all ingredients in a bowl and stirring roughly until they are thoroughly combined.
  2. In a glass or cocktail shaker, stir salsa and cocktail ingredietns together.
  3. Rim a tumbler with salt and fill it half-full of ice. Strain cocktail into tumbler. Garnish with a lime wedge and/or a piece of green chili and a sprig of celery.
