January 29, 2016

January 29, 2016 marks the opening of LCBO’s newest “Products of the World” specialty store. The destination boutique at 15830 Bayview Ave. in Aurora offers more than 140 different Argentinian wines and spirits. The selection is believed to be the best assortment available outside of Argentina.

Many of the wines and spirits are from LCBO’s Consignment Program, which means they are available to customers for the first time outside of Argentinian bars and restaurants. The selection will be regularly refreshed to keep the assortment dynamic and appealing.

Products have been chosen to appeal to a wide range of tastes and budgets. To better enhance the shopping experience for all fans of Argentinian wines and spirits, the Aurora store has a Product Consultant who can offer expert advice on the rare listings.

LCBO’s “Products of the World” program now includes six destination stores. Since launching, sales of Greek products are up 138 per cent at the Danforth location; sales of Portuguese products in The Stockyards are up 52 per cent; and sales of Spanish products at the Dundas St. W. & Burnhamthorpe Rd. store are up 64 per cent. In late December 2015, two kosher locations were launched in Thornhill and Lawrence Heights in Toronto. More countries are planned for 2016.
